#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review. I'm seriously hoping this is just the start of a new series. There wasn't a bit of this narrative I didn't like, even the villain is compelling and comes a bit out of left field. There's quite a few surprises in this story which all just added to my enjoyment overall and the romance at the heart of the story has a wonderful pathos which gives it a unique flavour.ĭavid and his Violet-Eyes are seriously hot and the terminology firmly places them right in the period - no cuming/coming here thanks but oh boy do they spend ) There's a fine raft of secondary characters who are integral to the plotting and I'd love to read more about David's housekeeper Mrs Crawford, as well as his aristocratic brother Charnley (who isn't as he first appears and who I might be a little bit in love with!)

When he encounters a violet-eyed footman during a house party, it sets off a series of events which rapidly turn into a delightful low key thriller with a spy element. The plot offers up a fine Georgian romp set shortly after the Battle of Trafalgar and focusing on the activities of David, a nobleman's bastard son as he fakes his way through London's hoi polloi. A good historical romance is among my top things to read and I loved this one from Ruby Moone.

Meticulously produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Doug Schwartz, the 20-page full color package includes in-depth liner notes by film music writer Daniel Schweiger. This book was brilliant. This limited 2-CD edition from Quartet Records includes, for the first time, the complete score composed and recorded by Faltermeyer for the film, and also the remastered MCA album, unused cues, demos, and alternate versions of both score and songs. The popular Thief of Hearts soundtrack album was released by MCA on LP and CD and reissued several times over the years, although in its 40-minute length it included only the five songs and five score cues specifically arranged for the album.

The composer also wrote and produced several pop songs for the film, and arranged the original song "Thief of Hearts," composed by Giorgio Moroder and performed by Melissa Manchester, which was a huge hit in its single version. Harold Faltermeyer provided an intense, romantic and suspenseful electronic score, varied and rhythmic. She doesn't know that he has broken into her house and read her diaries, in which she has recorded her deepest thoughts and fantasies. The film is about a woman trapped in a boring marriage who begins an affair with a handsome man who seems able to read her mind. Quartet Records, Geffen Records and Paramount Pictures present the premiere release of the complete score by Harold Faltermeyer for Douglas Day Stewart's 1984 sexual, romantic drama-thriller Thief of Hearts, starring Steven Bauer, Barbara Williams and John Getz.
